Dr. Friedrich Schöchl founded Yacht-Pool in 1976 with the goal of uniting recreational boaters and charter boat operators in common risk management – creating the first of its kind 'pool' in the German market.
He was the first to introduce the so-called All Risk insurance terms to the German boat insurance market. Since insurance terms could not be patented, competitors have gradually copied them over the years.
Yacht-Pool continues to develop all its insurance and service products in-house. Since its founding, the company has offered personal service from consultation to claims handling.
